Simple checklist cuts accidental deaths in surgery | Reuters
This isn't the first time that I've heard of this, but it is none-the-less very interesting and applicable to many students at the SNU Yongon LEI.
The suggestion is simple, use a checklist to make sure that everyone is checking the basics for surgery is carried out. This is not aimed at checking off procedures during the surgery, but rather making sure that all the know variables are accounted for before.
