Harder for Women to Maintain No-Smoking

Ok, forget about my last post. THIS is our topic for Tuesday.

Blame the error on a too-long holiday week (or not long enough :)

This is an article discussing why it seems to be more difficult for women to quit smoking. Read it, think about it, and be ready to talk about it on Tuesday :)

Here are some guiding questions.
  • Though most smokers know that smoking is harmful to their health, why do you think they keep smoking?

  • Weight control is one of the biggest factors that induce girls to smoke. What do you think about this?

  • Have you heard about 'pro-ana'?

  • What can be done to quit smoking?

  • What do you think about the Korean government policy raising the price of tobacco?

  • This might have an effect on lower socioeconomic status (SES) smokers, but what about higher SES smokers?
